Mar 18-Mar 25, 2010 LEED Certification: Use Less or Useless? Ever wonder what all the hype is about with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design)? Nearly 20 years ago, the United States Green Building Council formulated a series of scoring systems for measuring the "greenness" or sustainability of building projects. Sustainability is a concept much talked about, and somewhat misunderstood, especially in the world of home or building design and construction. Join guest instructor, Brian L. Benson, PE, HPBDP, LEED¿ AP, for a brief exploration of building design, past and present; a discussion of what sustainable building design could mean in the future; and a point-by-point LEED scoring exercise for a case study. IF you are at all interested in LEED, how it works and what it really is, this course is for you! Two consecutive Thursday evenings 6-8 PM, $59 https://webproc.mnscu.edu/registration/search/detail.html?campusid=304&courseid=002424&yrtr=20105&rcid=0304&localrcid=0304&partnered=false&parent=search For more information, contact: Michael Gallagher, michael.gallagher@century.edu or 651 779 5782 Region: Twin Cities Topics: Buildings, Education, Energy Audience: All Submitted By: Michael Gallagher Back to calendar
