Apr 29-Apr 30, 2010 Cross-Sector Leadership for the Green Economy: Integrating Research and Practice "Join leaders from the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors to discuss how to build a viable and sustainable green economy with new forms of cross-sector leadership. Thursday, April 29 and Friday, April 30, 2010 If the green economy is to flourish it will not only require technological breakthroughs-- building a viable and sustainable green economy will require new forms of cross-sector leadership. To pave the way for a transition to a greener economy, institutions from the public, private, and non-profit sectors will have to achieve new levels and new types of cooperation. Academic insights must be joined with those of practice. The goal of the conference is to bring together researchers and practitioners to address key issues crucial to a viable and sustainable green economy: - How do newly organized systems for cooperation in the green economy arise and gain momentum? How do they structure themselves? - How do the different players work together to manage and deal with ambiguity, risk, and uncertainty? What roles do they play? - How do they learn from experience and share knowledge? - Are different geographical clusters throughout the world evolving different systems of cooperation? Are these different systems of cooperation leading to different evolutionary paths? - What is successful cluster activity? How do we know it is successful? - What is the role of competition as well as cooperation in shaping the character of the green economy in different parts of the world? - What do emerging successes (and failures) suggest about establishing a future research and practice agenda in this field? The Cross-Sector Leadership for the Green Economy Conference is co-sponsored by the Humphrey Institute's Center for Science, Technology & Public Policy at the Humphrey Institute and the Center for Integrative Leadership--a center jointly operated by the Carlson School of Management and the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs."
